Wedding invitations

Digital wedding invitations as beautiful as your big night

Design your digital wedding invitations for free from ready-made templates, send them to every guest on WhatsApp, and let guests answer with a single tap: accept or decline. One screen shows who received the invitation, who read it and who is coming, so the venue and caterer get real numbers instead of guesses. No printing, no delivery runs, no subscription: you pay once per event, only when you send.

Why send wedding invitations on WhatsApp?

A printed card has its charm, but it also means a print shop, a pickup date and days of driving between houses, and you still never know which cards arrived. WhatsApp is the app your guests already open every day, so the invitation reaches them wherever they are: down the street, in another city or abroad.

The bigger difference is that a digital invitation keeps working after you send it. Each guest replies inside the chat and you watch the answers come in, so days before the wedding you know how many chairs to set, how many tables the women's hall needs, and who could use a gentle reminder.

It's easier on the whole family, too. Nobody has to collect addresses, phone every household to double-check, or keep a list on paper. Numbers and replies live in one place, and everyone helping you plan sees the same picture.

  • No printing or hand delivery: you design and send from your phone.
  • A clear status for every guest by name: delivered, read, replied.
  • Change the design as often as you like before sending, at no cost.
  • Guests need no app and no account, just WhatsApp.

How it works in four steps

You don't need design skills or a free afternoon. You start from a ready-made template, and every step is laid out from the first screen:

If a sister or friend is helping with the planning, add her as a co-host so she can manage the guest list with you, and wedding week doesn't all run through one phone.

  • Design: pick a template, type the couple's names, date and venue, and adjust colors and fonts. Designing is free.
  • Add guests: choose numbers from your contacts or type them in. Only the numbers you pick are uploaded.
  • Send: choose the package that fits your guest count, pay once, and send the invitation to everyone on WhatsApp.
  • Track replies: see who accepted, who declined and who hasn't opened it yet, all updating live.

Ready-made wedding invitation designs you can make your own

Dawati has more than fifty ready-made designs, most of them made for weddings: Arabic ornament, watercolor florals, chandeliers, stone arches, and calm one-color layouts for couples who prefer something understated. Every design is editable, from the text and colors to the fonts and layout.

Write the invitation in Arabic, English, or both if some of your guests don't read Arabic. And if you want something nobody else has, ask for our custom-design service, “Tafseel”: we come back with two designs made for your wedding within three business days, with two rounds of revisions.

A tip from experience: keep the card itself short (names, day, time, venue) and leave extra details for the accompanying message. A crowded card is hard to read on a phone screen, and simple almost always looks more elegant.

When choosing, think about the feel of your night: a grand hall with warm lighting suits chandeliers and gold, a garden or rest-house party suits florals and soft colors, and Arabic ornament fits families who love a traditional touch. Try a few designs before deciding; experimenting costs nothing.

Wedding invitation wording you can send today

Here are a few wordings written to be sent as they are or with light edits. Replace the bracketed parts and pick the tone that suits your family: formal from the parents, warm for relatives and friends, or short for the women's party. On Pro and Max you can also write your own message to go with the invitation.

One-tap RSVP and companion limits

Every invitation comes with two clear buttons: Accept and Decline. The guest taps once and that's it, with nothing to download or sign up for. The reply lands straight in your guest list, and any message a guest writes back shows up in your in-app inbox, so congratulations and questions don't get lost across chats.

Companions are your call: decide whether guests may bring anyone, and set the maximum per guest. At a wedding this matters, because seating is counted and one extra companion per guest can throw off the whole hall and dinner plan.

If the wedding uses two halls, open the event's details after creating it and choose the “wedding with separate halls” event type, and the invitation wording states that seating is separate for men and women. Everyone receives the same invitation and the same details, so name both halls (or both entrances) in the venue, and nobody needs a last-minute call to ask where exactly to go.

QR entry passes and door check-in

On the Pro and Max packages, every guest who accepts receives a personal entry pass with their own QR code. On the night, your door team opens the gate link and enters a PIN on any phone; no special scanners or rented equipment.

Scanning keeps working on weak venue Wi-Fi, because scans are queued on the phone and sent once the connection returns. The same code can't be used to check in twice. You get an orderly entrance and a real attendance list showing who arrived and who's running late.

Reminders before the wedding, thank-yous after

When should the invitation go out? For weddings, two to three weeks ahead works well: enough time for guests to plan or book travel, close enough that it isn't forgotten.

People get busy in the weeks between the invitation and the big night, so you can send a reminder using a wording from the ready-made message library. A day or two before the celebration is usually the sweet spot, with the time and venue spelled out.

A few days before the reminder, scan your guest list. Someone who read the invitation but hasn't replied probably just forgot to tap; an invitation that was never read may mean the number has changed. That quick look tells you who deserves a personal call and who only needs the reminder.

Afterwards, a warm thank-you message closes the occasion with the same care it started with. Guests appreciate being remembered after the celebration, and it's a natural moment to share the guest photo album link if you turned it on.

Hijri and Gregorian dates side by side

Many families like the wedding date to appear in Hijri, while some guests plan by the Gregorian calendar. Dawati can show the Hijri date (Umm al-Qura calendar) next to the Gregorian one, so everyone reads the date they're used to and nobody turns up on the wrong evening.

Your guests' privacy: the list stays yours

A wedding guest list holds the numbers of parents, cousins and neighbors, and deserves to be handled with care. Only the numbers you choose for the invitation are uploaded; the rest of your contacts stay on your phone. Guests can't see who else is invited or how many.

The list belongs to you and to whoever you give access, and we handle it in line with Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). If you turn on the photo album, photos stay available to you and your guests for 14 days and are then permanently deleted.

How much do digital wedding invitations cost?

Designing is completely free; you pay only when you send, once per event, with no subscription. The price depends on the package and your guest count: 50, 100, 150, 200, 300 or 500 guests.

Which package fits your wedding? For a family celebration where all you need is an accurate headcount, Standard is enough. For a large guest list and a hall entrance that needs managing, Pro adds QR passes, door check-in and a message in your own words. And if you want the night's photos collected from your guests' phones, Max brings it all together.

The guest photo album is also available as a flat 150 SAR add-on with Standard or Pro. Purchases inside the iPhone app cost about 15% more because payment goes through Apple. You get a full refund any time before the first invitation is sent; see the pricing page for the full breakdown.

  • Standard, 69–299 SAR: WhatsApp invitations and live RSVP.
  • Pro, 149–699 SAR: everything in Standard plus QR entry passes, door check-in and a custom message.
  • Max, 229–849 SAR: everything in Pro plus the guest photo album.

Frequently asked questions

Do guests need an app or an account to reply to a wedding invitation?

No. The invitation arrives in an ordinary WhatsApp chat, and the guest taps Accept or Decline right there. Nothing to install, no login, no password.

What if a guest doesn't use WhatsApp?

Every guest has a personal invitation link. Copy it and send it to them directly; they can open the invitation and reply just like everyone else, and their answer appears in the same list.

Can the invitation say the men's and women's halls are separate?

Yes. Pick the “wedding with separate halls” event type and the wording tells guests that seating is separate. All guests see the same details, so write both hall names or entrances clearly in the venue field.

How do I control the number of companions?

Choose whether companions are allowed at all, then set the maximum per guest. That keeps numbers within what your venue holds and what you've ordered from the caterer.

When do I pay, and can I get a refund?

You design for free and pay once when you send. If plans change, you get your money back in full any time before the first invitation goes out.

Can I see who read the invitation and who hasn't opened it?

Yes. Each guest has a live status: delivered, read, then accepted or declined. You'll know exactly who needs a reminder before the wedding.

Is the invitation only in Arabic?

Choose Arabic, English or both, and optionally show the Hijri date (Umm al-Qura) alongside the Gregorian one.
