WhatsApp RSVP: one tap for guests, the full picture for you

WhatsApp RSVP on Dawati makes answering your invitation the easiest thing a guest does all day: two buttons inside the message itself, accept and decline. No link to lose, no awkward phone call. From your phone you follow every guest by name, who received the invitation, who read it and who replied, so you know your numbers before you confirm with the venue.

How WhatsApp RSVP works

You send your invitation from Dawati and each guest gets a WhatsApp message in their name, with your design and the event details. Under the message sit two buttons: accept and decline. One tap, and their answer reaches you in the same moment.

There is no app to download, no account to create, no password to remember. Everything happens inside the chat they already use every day, so replying takes seconds and you no longer chase answers across calls and scattered messages.

Companions: you set the limit

Can I bring someone? It's one of the most common wedding questions. On Dawati you settle it before anyone asks: choose whether companions are allowed at all, and set the maximum per guest. That keeps the number on your screen close to the number of people who will actually sit down.

A live view of every guest, by name

Instead of a grey tick that tells you nothing, every name shows its real status: delivered, read, accepted or declined. Totals update with each reply, so at any moment you know how many are coming and how many haven't answered yet.

  • Delivered: the message reached the guest's phone.
  • Read: the guest opened the invitation.
  • Replied: accepted or declined, shown instantly.
  • Your attending total updates with every new acceptance.

Guest replies, gathered in one inbox

Some guests don't stop at the button. They write congratulations, explain they'll be travelling that day, or ask about parking. Those messages don't get lost in someone's phone; they land in the replies inbox inside Dawati, next to each guest's status.

Reminders before the event

People forget, especially when the invitation went out weeks ago. You can send a reminder message before the event, choosing from a library of ready wordings. Two or three days before tends to work well: enough time to plan, close enough that nobody forgets.

After the event, the same library has thank-you messages, a final touch your guests will remember. The two samples below show the style; writing the message in your own words comes with Pro and Max.

Hello [Guest name], We'd be delighted to have you at [Occasion] on [Day], [Date], at [Venue]. Please accept or decline using the buttons below by [RSVP deadline]. It would be an honour to see you there.

Tips for getting more replies

A few small habits make a big difference to your response rate:

  • Send wedding invitations two to three weeks ahead, and one to two weeks ahead for smaller gatherings.
  • Put an RSVP deadline on the invitation card itself; a clear date nudges the undecided.
  • Avoid sending late at night; pick a time when people are on their phones.
  • For a guest without WhatsApp, share their personal invitation link so they can reply from it.

Once the replies are in

The point of RSVP isn't the number itself but what you do with it. Knowing your headcount days ahead lets you confirm dinner quantities with the caterer and table count with the venue, with no wasted surplus and no embarrassing shortfall.

And if your event is large and you want control at the entrance, Pro and Max give every guest who accepts a personal QR entry pass that's scanned at the door.

What does RSVP tracking cost?

Live RSVP is part of every package. Standard, from 69 to 299 SAR depending on guest count, covers WhatsApp invitations and live response tracking. You pay once per event with no subscription, and designing your invitation is free.

Frequently asked questions

Do guests need an app or account to RSVP?

No. They answer from inside the WhatsApp message with the accept or decline button, without installing or signing up for anything.

How can I tell who read the invitation but didn't reply?

Their name shows a read status with no reply, so you know who might need a reminder or a friendly call.

Can I send a reminder before the event?

Yes. Pick a reminder from the ready-made library and send it before the event whenever suits you.

Where do the messages guests type end up?

In the replies inbox inside Dawati, so congratulations, apologies and questions are all in one place.

Can I control the number of companions?

Yes. Decide whether companions are allowed and set the maximum for each guest.

Can guests see who else has accepted?

No. The list and replies are visible to you and any co-host you add; guests never see the other invitees.
